|Bio||Jacob Ridgeway is a singer/songwriter/performer based in Newcastle, NSW.
In a short amount of time, Jacob has been welcomed in more than one genre, and it is his most valuable asset while still being grounded by his First Nations Worimi and Gamilaroi roots. He credits the diversity of music around him growing up and music he has studied as they have provided an inspired sound and storytelling unique to him.
Jacob's breakout performance came in 2014 when he was selected to sing "My Island Home" with the backing of the QPAC Choir and William Barton for the climax of the G20 opening.
Jacob's versatility and a steady rise as a performing artist has opened opportunities to perform, open or collaborate with such artists as; James Morrison, Jessica Mauboy, Stan Walker, Dami Im, Troy Cassar-Daley, Ash Grunwald, The Last Kinection and Emily Wurramara. He has performed in such venues as: QLD Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), Brisbane/Gold Coast Convention Centre, Judith Wright Centre, Brisbane Powerhouse, Suncorp and McDonald Jones Stadium. Festivals and shows include: QLD Music Festival, Jazz on the Green, X-Factor 2015, Tamworth CMF, 2016/2017/2018 NRL All-Stars games, 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Ceremonies, 2018 International Choral Kathaumixw in Canada and teamed with R U OK? as an ambassador on their 'Conversation Convoy'.

Jacob is a 2016 graduate of the National Aboriginal Centre of Performing Arts in Brisbane (ACPA) and the CMAA Academy of Country Music in Tamworth. Jacob completed his Bachelor of Music at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music in 2019 and is currently completing his Master of Creative Industries at the University of Newcastle.
Jacob released his debut single 'Bullyman' in July 2019 which has charted on the iTunes Alternative Chart - #8 and the iTunes All Genres Chart - #69. 'Bullyman' also took out the Grand Prize at the 2019 'National Indigenous Story Awards'. Jacob also providing backing vocals for Komiti and his single 'This Is My Time' that opened in the Top 20 on the iTunes All Genres Chart as well as receiving commercial radio airplay.
His latest single 'I'm Not Coming Home' was co-written with Ryan Cornish during the 2017 DAG Sheep Station Writers Retreat and charted on the iTunes Alternative Chart - #22 and the iTunes All Genres Chart - #122. The brooding lyrics describe a journey of straying from one's self while blending a demise derived from the co-writer's own trials, tribulations & perceptions of the documentary 'Amy'.
While both vastly different, both singles provide further insight to what we can expect from him in the future and that is; Anything could be possible!
