| Bio | "mia barron" is a Tasmanian-Australian singer/songwriter who writes indie-folk pop as a means of telling stories about life’s emotional ups and downs, using catchy melodies and raw indie sounds.
At seventeen years old, Mia moved alone from Germany to Tasmania. The experience profoundly impacted both her worldview and her writing style. Beginning again in another part of the world gave Mia independence, loneliness, uncertainty and new beginnings; emotions she continues to draw upon when writing.
Currently 20 years old, Mia is beginning to establish herself within the developing Tasmanian music scene through releasing original songs and performing live throughout the state, including her biggest achievement so far: opening for Tones and I in Ulverstone.
She combines acoustic songwriting with elements of the known “Aussie band indie” style, but Mia’s music can also be found shifting between introspective, stripped-back emotionality and larger emotional moments. However, at the core of everything Mia creates are stories told with honesty and a desire to make music that helps others know they’re not alone. |
