|Bio||Golden Orb is female-driven electronic pop with organic bass and guitar lines.
A loving homage; a bowing down in gratitude to 70’s disco, 80’s funk, 90’s pop and early 2000’s funky house, this is Retro Unicorn Pop to escape to.
Created in September 2020 by singer/songwriter, guitarist and session bassist Danielle Cram both in response to and as an antidote to the isolation and confusion of the Covid-19 pandemic, Golden Orb exists to bring love, light and uplifting energy into the hearts and souls of those who need it. A vision of universal inclusivity is at the heart of the music at a time when division seems to be tearing societies, communities and families apart.
The inspiration behind the project name was Golden Silk Orb-Weavers, the spiders prevalent in the backyards of South-East Queensland, where Danielle resides.
Danielle became fascinated with these creatures as they weaved their golden webs to catch their prey around the perimeter of her home during the writing process of the music that became Golden Orb. She discovered that the females were the web weavers and immediately saw the metaphor of the powerful, independent woman creating her world exactly as she desires - with beauty and in tune with nature. Danielle realised Golden Orb was the perfect fit and was set alight with passion and vision to weave love, empowerment and unity into the world.
Danielle’s wide-ranging career as a session bassist has seen her tour throughout Australia with country music queen Beccy Cole, plus countless shows with a diverse range of other acts. She has played most major festivals in Australia, including Falls Festival, Blues on Broadbeach, Gympie Music Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival and the Deni Ute Muster.|
